Real Tribute began as a concept that culminated between 2 lifelong friends, Steve Altman and Jeanie Cunningham.  When Steve’s mother started showing signs of Alzheimer’s Disease a number of years ago, he began to collate all the various pictures, home movies and video clips he could find of her. He hoped somehow to encapsulate them all into a meaningful medium that could be shared by the rest of his family, and future generations as well.

The task of putting an entire life’s work together fell easily and logically upon Steve’s shoulders--after all, he was the one in the family who had an extensive history in the entertainment industry. (*See: www.saturnandvine.com)  He had already written, produced,  directed, acted in and edited a number of films in his 30 year career, and was well equipped (both emotionally and experientially) to tackle something as personal as putting together a tribute to his beloved mother.

Sadly, Steve’s mother, Helen, passed away, but when his tribute to her  was shown at her funeral, he was not only inundated with  compliments, but inquiries as to how others could have tributes made for their family members .    The concept, though unintentional, was a ‘hit’. Simultaneously, Jeanie* was developing a  TV series, (‘The Composers’ Corner’), which required her to research, write about, and collate pictures and videos of the guests on the show, and put them together in 7 minute biographies (*See: http://www.jaecie.com).
